We Fight

For

Representation and Due Process

When a member faces discipline, a contract violation, or another workplace dispute, trained union representatives help protect the member’s right to fair treatment and due process.

Career Opportunity and Job Security

Local 1070 advocates for fair postings, seniority rights, appropriate staffing, career conversions, transfers, and opportunities for postal employees to advance.

Unity and Respect Across Every Craft

Clerk, Maintenance, and Motor Vehicle Service employees perform different duties, but every craft deserves equal respect, reliable representation, and a strong voice.

Grisselle Nieves

PRESIDENT, APWU LOCAL 1070

A veteran who now fights for The Union

Grisselle Nieves brings years of postal union service and workplace representation to her role as president of APWU Puerto Rico Area Local 1070.

Her documented union service has included positions as trustee, shop steward, secretary, Northern Regional Coordinator, and vice president before assuming the presidency. Through these responsibilities, she has gained firsthand experience with member representation, contract education, workplace concerns, and the needs of postal employees across Puerto Rico.

Her public leadership priorities emphasize transparency, responsible stewardship of members’ resources, stronger communication, steward training, member education, and unity among career and non-career employees in every represented craft.

As president, her role is to help build an informed and engaged membership—one in which postal workers know their rights, participate in their union, and have access to representation when workplace challenges arise.

“An informed, involved, and united membership is the foundation of a stronger workplace.”
